Hanwah Device Configuration issue

ISSUE:

When there is an issue related to adding a device, follow the below instructions.
Firstly, check if the credentials shared are Basic & Digest authentication.
To check, the following URL needs to be framed.

http://[USERNAME]:[PASSWORD]@[IP ADDRESS]:[PORT]/ec2/getCamerasEx

Result (FAILED):


After hitting the URL, if the result is as shown above then check for the NX version. And if the NX version is 5.0.0.36634, then Basic & Digest authentication is not supported for owner/admin of the system.

Solution:

A local user needs to be created to overcome this issue. 
- If you have the access to create a local user then create one and frame the above mentioned URL and try.
- If you don't have access please request the customer to create the Local user.

Result (PASSED):

After hitting the URL, if the result is as shown below then the issue resolved.

      

Local User Creation: 

Step 1: Open NX Witness client and click on connect to server. Enter the admin/owner credentials like IP address (HOST) of the device, username (Login) and the Password into the popup window. Click "OK" button to continue.




Step 2: Post login right click on "Users" and select "New User..."




Step 3: Create new user by filling up the below mentioned screen. User Type must be "Local" and Roles "Administrator".



Step 4: Make sure that the enable toggle is on and click on the  three dots as highlighted below. This will display the option "Allow digest authentication for this user". Make sure this option is selected.



Step 5: You will be able to see the screen as show below post entering all the information. Click OK



Step 6: Login to Genesis and configure this device using the local user credentials. The device will be discoverable.
