Overview

We are excited to introduce the Audio On/Off Toggle Feature as part of the latest update. This enhancement improves the audio management capabilities across various streaming modules, including Salvo Page, Video Activity Search Multimonitor to Salvo Page, and Map Multimonitor to Salvo Page. The feature enables seamless event generation in Talos for better monitoring and incident tracking.


Feature Details

Toggle Placement:
  • The Audio On/Off button is now available in the following modules:
    • Salvo Page
    • Video Activity Search Multimonitor to Salvo Page
    • Map Multimonitor to Salvo Page
  • The button allows users to enable or disable audio streaming for individual devices.
Functionality:
  • Audio ON:
    • When the Audio button is turned ON, an event is generated in Talos with the following details:
      • audio.alertTech.Alarm
  • Audio OFF:
    • When the Audio button is turned OFF, an event is generated in Talos with the following details:
      • audio.alertTech.Restore
  • Audio Failure:
    • If the audio fails when turned ON, an event is generated in Talos with the following details:
      • audio.faultTech.Alarm

Usage Steps

  1. Navigate to one of the supported modules:
    • Salvo Page
    • Video Activity Search Multimonitor to Salvo Page
    • Map Multimonitor to Salvo Page
  2. Select a Device to manage the audio stream.
  3. Click the Audio Button:
    • ON → Enables audio streaming and generates the audio.alert Tech.Alarm event in Talos.
    • OFF → Disables audio streaming and generates the audio.alert Tech.Restore event in Talos.
  4. In case of audio failure while turning it ON, the audio.fault Tech.Alarm event is triggered in Talos.

Validation

To validate the feature:

  1. Enable/Disable the Audio Toggle in any supported module.
  2. Verify that the corresponding event is generated in Talos:
    • For ON, check for audio.alert Tech.Alarm events.
    • For OFF, verify audio.alert Tech.Restore events.
    • For audio failure, confirm audio.fault Tech.Alarm events.
  3. Ensure the events reflect accurately in Talos and match the toggle actions performed.

Note

  • This feature is currently available only in Salvo Page, Video Activity Search Multimonitor to Salvo Page, and Map Multimonitor to Salvo Page.
  • Ensure proper Talos configuration to capture and validate the audio events accurately.
