Release Notes – GCX-One Site Move Enhancement

Overview

The GCX-One Site Move Enhancement has been successfully implemented to provide a secure, scalable, and streamlined workflow for moving sites between customers. The enhancement introduces an improved user experience for customer reassignment while maintaining operational continuity across site configurations, Talos mapping, analytics settings, associated events, and audit tracking.

The new workflow simplifies customer migration activities and reduces manual administrative effort by centralizing all site move operations within the Sites module.

Site Move Workflow

Accessing the Site Move Feature

Users can initiate the site migration process directly from the Sites module using the Move option available under the site action menu.

Workflow Steps

  1. Navigate to the Sites module.
  2. Select the required site from the site listing.
  3. Open the Actions menu and click Move.

  4. In the Move Site popup :
    • Search and select the target customer.
    • Configure migration settings:
      • Retain Map Location and Layout
      • Retain Analytics
  5. Click Move to complete the migration process.

The workflow has been designed to improve usability, simplify customer reassignment operations, and ensure controlled site transfer execution.

User Interface Enhancements

Included Enhancements

  • Customer search functionality
  • Customer list filtering and selection
  • Retain Map Location and Layout toggle
  • Retain Analytics toggle
  • Validation-driven move execution
  • Controlled Move and Cancel actions

The interface ensures a cleaner migration workflow and reduces the possibility of incorrect customer reassignment.

Talos Map Location & Layout Handling :

Enhancements were implemented to ensure uninterrupted event continuity after migration.

Included Improvements

  • Related site events are successfully transferred under the target customer.
  • Existing event associations remain intact after migration.
  • Event visibility and operational tracking continue without interruption.

This ensures consistent monitoring behavior across migrated sites.

Device & Sensor Association Handling

During the site migration process:

  • Associated devices remain linked correctly to the moved site.
  • Sensor associations are preserved successfully.
  • Backend synchronization maintains consistency across migrated entities.

The implementation supports migration scenarios involving larger site structures with multiple devices and sensors.

Customer Compatibility Support

The Site Move enhancement supports migration across multiple customer states, including:

  • Active to Active customer
  • Active to Inactive customer
  • Inactive to Active customer
  • Inactive to Inactive customer

This provides greater operational flexibility for customer management workflows.

  • Customer reassignment actions are tracked for administrative visibility.
  • Audit entries provide improved operational monitoring support and migration history tracking.

Backend & Operational Improvements

Additional improvements included as part of this enhancement:

  • Improved backend processing for customer reassignment workflows
  • Enhanced synchronization of site metadata and customer mappings
  • Improved analytics configuration synchronization
  • Better handling of Talos site mapping continuity
